One little letter makes something turn from a sour pucker to a hoped for treat, to creamy deliciousness, to a tech-job, to an improvement.
One little letter.
And then this.
My mother-in-law gave me a prayer journal for Christmas. Around the same time, I was inspired by a fellow author who shared her goal-setting strategies. The pages of this journal contain a chronicle of events, people and prayers for the year. It also contains a list of goals for most weeks, squares drawn on a little post-it: physical, spiritual, professional and social. I’ve learned I feel better when I keep these things in balance and the post-it goals have helped.
The first pic is the corner of the prayer journal opposite where I’ve been sticking the post-its. The second pic is the corner of the prayer journal where the post-its are stuck. It might not look like a significant difference (even the ruler doesn’t show an impressive change), but I can feel them- both in the thickness of the journal when I hold that corner and in how I feel day-to-day. Purposeful prayer, forward movement in writing, daily exercise, time with friends- these small changes move me from bitter to better.
That’s God’s will for all of us.
How will He use the bitter in my life to make me better?
